KURA KI TAI

Nau mai, haere mai ki Kura Ki Tai wakaama.

We are a wakaama club based in Opotiki, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. 

​

Pakihikura is the name of a waka tipuna of Te Whakatohea, and is the name of the confluence of the Waioweka and Otara rivers. Kura ki uta refers to knowledge found on land, kura ki tai is the knowledge found on the coastline and ocean. The mission of the club is to build connection to our tīpuna, tikanga, korero tuku iho and taiao through the use of kaupapa waka.
